Step by Step Procedure:

  1. Take a beaker and fill it with some water to a marked water level.
  2. Add a measured amount of salt to the water.
  3. Stir the mixture thoroughly with a glass rod to ensure proper dissolution of salt in water.
  4. Observe if there is any change in the water level after the salt is added and dissolved.
  5. Add some more salt and stir it again.
  6. Observe and note any further changes in the level of water.

Experiment Observations:

Upon adding salt and stirring it, the water level may increase due to the dissolved salt occupying space between the water particles.
