Human body and its movement in Movements in Animals – Class 6 Science Experiment
Chapter Name: Movements in Animals
Activity Name: Human body and its movement in Movements in Animals
Activity Description:
The experiment involves performing various movements with different body parts and observing the extent to which each body part can rotate, bend, lift, and move.
Required Items:
- None
Step by Step Procedure:
- Bowl an imaginary ball at an imaginary wicket.
- Lie down and try to rotate your leg at the hip.
- Bend your arm at the elbow.
- Bend your leg at the knee.
- Stretch your arms sideways.
- Chew some food.
- Bend your arm to touch your shoulder with your finger.
- Try to move other body parts as well.
Experiment Observations:
S.No | Body part | Rotators Partially/Completely | Bends Yes/No | Lifts Yes/No | Moves Yes/No |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Neck | Partially | Yes | No | Yes |
2 | Wrist | Completely | Yes | Yes | Yes |
3 | Fingers | Partially | Yes | Yes | Yes |
4 | Knee | Completely | Yes | Yes | Yes |
5 | Ankle | Partially | Yes | Yes | Yes |
6 | Toes | Partially | Yes | Yes | Yes |

Precautions:
- Perform the movements carefully to avoid any injury.
- If any movement causes discomfort or pain, stop immediately.
Lesson Learnt from Experiment:
Through this experiment, we can understand the range of movements and flexibility of different body parts. It helps us appreciate the complexity of the human body and the coordination required for performing various actions.
