  1. Ask your friend to open their mouth and move their lower jaw up and down as well as sideways.

  3. Look for any joint in the bones near their ear. This is the place where the lower jaw bone is joined to the skull.
  4. Now, press your fingers on both sides of your face and try to locate the joints similar to the one you observed in your friend’s jaw. These are fixed joints.

Experiment Observations:

  1. Observe the movement of your friend’s lower jaw bone as they open and close their mouth.
  2. Look for the joint in the bones near their ear where the lower jaw bone is connected to the skull.
  3. On your own face, press your fingers on both sides and find the fixed joints similar to the one near the ear.
