  1. Place the hard spring on a table.
  2. Compress the spring using your palm.
  3. Hold the compressed spring for a few seconds.
  4. Release the spring and observe what happens next.
  5. Take note of any changes in the spring’s position, state, and size during the compression and release.

Experiment Observations:

  1. When the spring is compressed, it undergoes a change in its size, getting shorter and storing potential energy.
  2. Upon release, the spring gains energy and may even jump away from the table due to the stored potential energy being converted into kinetic energy.
